Simon Says.....

Lately, we have been having some trouble with a certain little almost 6 year olds attitude...she will argue the sky is not blue just to argue about something! So you can imagine what happens when its time to clean up, or brush teeth, or take a shower...you guessed it! more arguing... so the other day I came up with a game (since she is so competitive!) to get her to do things...I started added the simple phrase of "Simon Says" to what I wanted her to do...such as, "Simon says go take a shower!" Well, it has worked like a charm! She is the first one to do what we ask now! I can't believe she is going to be 6 years old in about 9 days....growing so fast! Love that little Maddie of mine!

Family Dance Night

Tonight we spend the evening at Maddie's school booging down! Her school had its first annual family dance. It was so much fun! They had a dj that was great playing all kinds of music..from popular songs the kids love, to oldies like YMCA and the chicken dance, to Mickey Mouse Clubhouse for the little siblings...We had a great time dancing together and I loved watching Maddie in her element...what an outgoing child she has become...she gathered all her friends and lead them in dances and max found circles of people dancing and found his way into the middle of them...it was a great time!

Valentine's Day Plans

This year for valentine's day we decided to do things a little differently this year. We all put our names in a hat tonight. Each person picked a name out of the hat. We kept who we picked a secret. During this next week we are to secretly do nice things for the person we picked. Everyone was given $5 a piece to buy something for the person they picked. On Valentine's day, we are going to have a nice family dinner, and then exchange gifts. I am hoping that this will help everyone get a little closer to that person and really think about how to be a better person to them!

Max turns 2!

I can not believe my baby boy is 2 today!! He has grown up so much...he is talking in 2 and 3 word phrases, loves to jump, and knows all the characters of Thomas the train! He really loves to read and build with blocks, and he is an outdoors guy...he is such a great little guy and always makes us laugh! We had a Thomas birthday party for him yesterday, and it turned out great! I made cake pops that Thomas pulled behind in his caboose along with cupcakes, we had choo choo wheel pasta and salad for dinner, we played pin the number 1 on thomas, and had a train pinata! Lots of friends and family came to his party, and he had a great time! Happy birthday Max!! Mommy loves you!
