Happy thanksgiving!

This thanksgiving was nice and relaxing. The weather here in Cleveland was beautiful at 62 degrees! The morning was spent putting up outside Christmas decorations and riding bikes. Mckenzie wanted to help us cook this year. The girls also made turkey place cards for everyone. We made these awesome crockpot cinnamon pecans and everything was amazing! We watched the movie Christmas vacation while eating desert and everyone had a nice day!

Wake up Santa!!

Going to strings vile mall around thanksgiving time to wake up Santa is becoming a yearly family tradition for us! Each year the kids wear their Jammie's to the mall where Santa is sleeping in a chair. Mrs. Claus comes and has frosty, roudolph, and the grinch come to help wake Santa up each year as the Christmas season approaches. The kids have a blast and it gets me in the mood for the Hidatsa season!

Gym class

This fall I snagged a groupon for a toddler gym class for max. It was a two month trial but after his first couple of classes I knew we were going to end up doing this longer than that! Max really loves hanging from the bars, walking on the beam, and climbing the rope! Such fun and great exercise esp in these up coming winter months!

Halloween 2012

Well it is November 4th and we just finished up trick or treating...crazy right? It sure did not feel like Halloween this year. At true beginning of the week we were under the rath of hurricane sandy. So many people lost power for days and a lot of damage was done. They canceled trick or treating on Halloween for everyone's safety. So it was rescheduled for tonight. Too bad Maddie for pretty sick throughout the day and was miserable by night time. She fell asleep on the couch at 6 and did not even get her costume on. Mckenzie went trick or treating with friends and I took max out. He had a pretty good time but only lasted about 25 minutes due to the cold. Defiantly a different Halloween for us this year!

Fall Fun!

Fall has been a fun time so far here at the Whitehead house! We have found some fun activities...mapleside has a great fall festival with hay rides, corn mazes, a playground....we also went to a new place for us, called Pick'n'Save Orchard. It is in medina, and you can pick your own apples...plus they have a hay ride, and some other cute activites for the kiddos...of course, football is on that fall list...mckenzie was a cheerleader for her school this year, so we got to see lots of games!

More Summer fun

We took a lot of small trips this summer...parks, the cleveland zoo, homecoming festivals, johnny appleseed at mapleside, painted penguin...just to name a few!! I tried to keep the kids busy, but we also like to stay home a float in the neighbors pool! The kids had a great time, and I hope it was a summer to remember!

Recital and Father's Day

June was a busy month for us this year! The girls had the annual dance recital, but this year we were at our new studio, Elite Dance Academy, and we love it there! The girls have learned so much from their classes and everyone has been great to us! Maddie did a ballet dance, to I see the light, and Mckenzie did a ballet and a jazz dance...both were great!
That weekend, Mimi and Papa were here for the recital and it was father's day weekend! We made Papa this funny candy card since he loves sweets, and Matt got a Kuerig! Awesome weekend all around!

Cedar Point

Another awesome adventure we took this summer was taking the family to Cedar Point. What a great time the kids had, and that made matt and I have a great time too! Mckenzie took one of her best friends, Eva, because this is the first year we felt it was ok for them to go off by themselves for awhile to ride what they want. I wasn't sure kenzie would ride much, but she did and really like it! Maddie and max had each other to ride with, and my mom, Oma, came with us. It was nice to have that extra set of hands, or someone to go check on the older girls...Max is a little daredevil and probably would have rode every ride in there if he was big enough! Maddie is a little more on the timid side, and had a great time on the kiddie rides, but wasn't quite ready for the big ones!

Myrtle Beach Trip, Summer 2012

Ok, I do realize that it is mid October and I am just now writing about our summer trip, but this momma has been super busy!! I am going to try to catch up a bit tonight, since my little ones are sound asleep, and I have some time to myself! In june we took a Whitehead family trip to Myrtle Beach! And when i say whiteheads, I mean alllll of them! Mimi and Papa, Aunt Stephanie and Christophe, Bryan and Miranda, Uncle Michael, Aunt Nikki, Katie and Michael and us....we rented a house on the beach for the week, and it was amazing!! The backyard was the ocean! Besides hanging out on the beach all week, we also did some amazing things such as an awesome Pirate Show at the old Dixie Stampede theater, putt-putt, shopping, swimming, ripley's aquarium, riding a banana boat in the middle of the ocean, and zip lining! Such an amazing trip with amazing memories! One that must be repeated!!

change of lifestyle

Its been awhile since my last post..its been a crazy but very fun summer..I will blot about vacations and day trips later but this is going to be about how our family has changed.these last couple.weeks. after having some tummy issues I decided to put the family on a natural organic diet. I did lots of research and de tided to first switch to organic fruits and veggiss. I found some great deals at the westside market. Then we switched to organic milk and eggs..this week we are working on cutting down the processed foods. Its going really well so far. The kids have jumped into it and have tried lots of new things..I am so proud of them..the results so far have been no more tummy aches and more energy...I will keep everyone posted on how its going ..

Day out with Thomas the train

About a month ago, I stumbled on a website about meeting Thomas the train, and getting to actually ride on him...Max's dream! i thought.....so my mom and I decided to get tickets and once maddie heard about it, she was all about going too!  It turned out to be pretty hot that day, but what a wonderful time we had!  We got to the cuyahoga valley national railroad and saw thomas approaching....max almost lost his mind!  Thomas is all we play, watch, and talk about around here lately, and there he was, his hero right in front of him!  It was set up so cute...lots of tents with a movie, train tables to play with, tattoo station, and some jumpy inflatables...then we got to ride on thomas and meet sir topham hat!  such a wonderful day of memories for the kids, and for me too!
